Brother Steals Jewelry To Support Heroin Habit, Report Says
A 24-year-old Medinah man was charged with theft by deception, a class 3 felony, after his sister, 26, of the 6800 block of Lexington Lane, called police Sept. 16 just before 4 pm She told them her brother had previouslybeen advised by her parents and herself he was not welcome in their home anymore because of a heroin addiction, according to the report,schmuck online shop, and that she suspected her brother had, on Sept. 14, taken several pieces of jewelry from a safe in the hometo support his habit.
Police spoke to the brother at the residence, and he related he had entered the house with a key his grandfather had given him many years ago, they said. He said he was not at the house to schmuck online, "steal" anything, but that he did take items of jewelry resembling those she described to support his heroin habit and put gas in the car, according to police. The items included a gold chain necklace with a cross containing rubies; a gold necklace with a small pink rose charm; a gold ring that was heart shaped, and a "Movado" watch which was white gold with a solid band. The value was $ 1,450, according to the report. The brother's court date is Oct.schmuck, 1 at the Skokie branch of the Cook County courts.
Man drives 54 in 35 mph zone
Nanjid Batkhuu, 24, of Skokie was charged with driving without a valid driver's license Tuesday at about 6:30 ohrringe,pm when a police officer tracked his gray infiniti traveling 54 mph in a 35 mph zone of Oakton street, near Ottawa. He presented a valid insurance card, but said he did not have a driver's license, and a database check showed he had never obtained one. His court date is Oct. 3; he was also cited for speeding.
