Police blotter: House guest steals jewelry


A person damaged a pickup truck door after kicking it about 2:58 am while it was parked in the 800 block of Carlisle Avenue. A front door window was so damaged at the same address.

A pit bull was stolen about midnight from a residence in the 200 block of South B Street.

A house guest is Believed to have stolen a retirement ring valued, at $ 1.200 and a wedding ring, valued at $ 500, between June 1 and Sept. 3 from a residence in the 900 block of Lawn Avenue.

Sept. 4

A portable heater and to aluminum ladder were stolen between Sept. 2 and Sept. 4 from a back porch in the 300 block of Tenth Street.

Six engine modification chips, check stubs with a Social Security number printed on them, and a digital camera were stolen overnight from a vehicle parked in a driveway in the 300 block of Kenyon Drive. A second vehicle at the same address was found with passenger's side front door open and the glove compartment had been ransacked sometime overnight.

A person driving her daughter to school about 7:10 am in the 300 block of Hancock Avenue told police another driver was flashing her lights and driving too close to her car and ended up striking the driver's door of the vehicle she was following.

A report of miscellaneous clothing, toys and personal belongings were damaged between 3 and 11 pm Sept.  ketten,4 in the 0 to 100 block of Timber Hill Drive. The suspect allegedly urinated on the victim's clothing and bedding and so broke toys belonging to the victim's children and the toys tossed into a nearby dumpster.

In an attempt to take money out of a vending machine overnight in the 900 block of Main Street, the machine's frame was damaged near the coin box.

A debit card was stolen from a purse about 1 on Aug. 31 120 in the 700 block of South Front Street and the suspect took the card to the bank and withdrew $

An assault was reported between 11:40 and 11:50 pm at Hensley and Bender avenues.

An assault was reported about 12:40 pm in the 1300 block of Greenwood Avenue.

Prescription medication was stolen between 7 and 8 pm from a residence in the 1300 block of Goodman Avenue.

A burglary was reported to have occurred between 1 and 1:20 pm in the 1400 block of Lake Avenue. A screen was ripped off and a bedroom window was broken to gain entry into the house. Walls in several rooms in the house were spray painted with graffiti, which shattered a glass top stove, two wood chairs were destroyed in the kitchen and a living room table was spary painted and the table's legs had been broken.

Sept. 6

The rear window of a car was broken and a purse, a bookbag, a day planner, five folders and three college textbooks, valued at $ 700, were stolen overnight while the car was parked in front of a residence in the 1500 block of South 12th Street.
